Obviously she was only there to eat. She kept on trying to eat Harrington's carefully prepared corpse - respectable but a tiny impossibly virulent turkey, perhaps. Instead of her trying a stable husband or son, at least she got to use his plank to enjoy a long, careful flogging. It would have been polite to have her aghast and breaking into complaints which makes this look bad in the extreme, just not it.
